# VOTE Token Stablecoin

**What is a stablecoin?**

* Stablecoins are cryptocurrencies that attempt to maintain a stable market value.
* Stablecoins may be pegged to a currency like the Canadian dollar or to the price of a commodity such as gold and pursue price stability by maintaining reserve assets as collateral (Canadian dollar in our case).
* Stablecoins are more useful than more volatile cryptocurrencies as a medium of exchange.

**Why use a stablecoin and not fiat or regular cryptocurrency?**

* Guaranteed stable value.
* Easy to cash out.
* Easy to use with little to no fees.
* Fees from traditional payment services like PayPal, Visa, etc, are cost-prohibitive when it comes to micro-transactions.

**VOTE tokens can be earned by:**

* Winning 1v1 challenges
* Winning GM Mode challenges
* Watching sponsored content

**VOTE tokens can be used for:**

* Voting on 1v1 challenges to earn SKILL
* Voting on GM Mode challenges to earn SKILL
* Trading in for equivalent CAD at any time.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://allskills.gitbook.io/whitepaper/tokenomics/vote-token-stablecoin.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
